Helen Sadowy Reimann 1935 - 2018
I can only envy my mother's command of a large scale painted surface. Her paintings--they have always simply been physically larger than my own. I'm really not sure why that is--though I know that it's something about guts and ego. Her work has heavily influenced the development of my own. Mom's paintings are characterized by richly saturated color and loose brushwork. She was educated at Cooper Union and Yale, and, like many of her time, has a highly inadequate photographic archive of her work. More images will come--when I have a chance to organize them. |
